Seedance 2.5
Generate 4–30 second 480p, 720p, or 1080p videos from text, first/last frames, or larger multimodal reference sets.
Supported modes
First and last frames: when images carries a first frame, or a first and a last frame, the video takes the first image’s aspect ratio and aspect_ratio is not applied.
Reference videos: each second of reference_videos is billed at the same per-second rate as the output, for as long as the references run. Their length is read when the task is created and that is what is held; when it cannot be read, the maximum is held and the unused part is refunded when the task finishes. A request with a reference video is never billed below a minimum for each second of output: 0.405 at 720p and $0.825 at 1080p; the per-second sum applies only when it comes to more than that.
Editing a video: Seedance 2.5 decides from the prompt whether a request edits the video in reference_videos (“replace the product in the video”, “make the jacket red”) rather than making a new one from it. An edit may keep the source video’s length and aspect ratio instead of the requested duration and aspect_ratio; the source must be 4–30 seconds. You are billed for the length that was rendered, along with the reference: usage.billable_duration_seconds on the finished task shows it.
Async flow: Create the task, save data.id, then poll the Task with GET /v1/tasks/{task_id}. On succeeded, read data.output.media. On failed, read data.error_code and data.error_message, then follow the error and retry policy.
Using a local file? upload a local input first and pass the returned data.url.
